NRS710.540. Board of county commissioners to fix rates and regulate use of system.

  •   For the purpose of further providing for the payment of the principal and interest upon the bonds authorized to be issued under NRS 710.400 to 710.590, inclusive, at the time and in the manner specified in NRS 710.400 to 710.590, inclusive, and in such bonds respectively, the board of county commissioners, acting in behalf of a town, and the successors of the county commissioners, meaning any municipal government of a town which may succeed to the control and management of the systems or any of the systems acquired under the provisions of NRS 710.400 to 710.590, inclusive, shall:

          1.  Fix the rates of service of the systems or any of the systems acquired under the provisions of NRS 710.400 to 710.590, inclusive, to the inhabitants of the town.

          2.  Adopt ordinances regulating the manner and use by the inhabitants of the systems or any of the systems so acquired.

          3.  Collect the rates so fixed in the manner prescribed by law for the collection of delinquent taxes or by a proceeding in the nature of a civil action, brought in the name of the board of county commissioners of the county wherein the cause of action arises.

          4.  Enforce the collections of the rates from delinquents in the manner provided by law.
