NRS218A.900. Legislative findings and declaration; definitions.
-
1. The Legislature finds as a fact that the complexities of contemporary civilization and government require the Legislature, in the discharge of its constitutional function, to delegate separately to committees and to the Legislative Commission the finding of essential facts and the preliminary consideration of legislation, and that these subordinate bodies are, therefore, an integral part of the Legislature.
2. As used in NRS 218A.900 to 218A.940, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires, “Legislature” means:
(a) The Legislature or either House;
(b) Any committee of either House;
(c) Any joint committee of both Houses; or
(d) Any other committee or commission created or authorized by the Legislature to perform legislative functions at the direction of the Legislature.
Ê The term includes, without limitation, a subcommittee.
