NRS130.10179. “State” defined. [Effective until the date that the provisions of The Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance is ratified by the President and the United States deposits its instrument of ratification.]

  •   “State” means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. The term includes:

          1.  An Indian tribe; and

          2.  A foreign country or political subdivision that:

          (a) Has enacted a law or established procedures for the issuance and enforcement of support orders which are substantially similar to the procedures established under the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act;

          (b) Is declared to be a foreign reciprocating country or political subdivision pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 659a; or

          (c) Is declared to be a state pursuant to NRS 130.035.
