  •   “Special damages” are only those damages which a plaintiff alleges and proves that the plaintiff has suffered in respect to the plaintiff’s property, business, trade, profession or occupation, including such amounts of money as the plaintiff alleges and proves that the plaintiff has expended as a result of the alleged libel or slander.
