NRS159.049. Appointment without issuance of citation.

  •   The court may, without issuing a citation, appoint a guardian for the proposed ward if the petitioner is a parent who has sole legal and physical custody of the proposed ward as evidenced by a valid court order or birth certificate and who is seeking the appointment of a guardian for the minor child of the parent. If the proposed ward is a minor who is 14 years of age or older:

          1.  The petition must be accompanied by the written consent of the minor to the appointment of the guardian; or

          2.  The minor must consent to the appointment of the guardian in open court.
